Observing the bustling crowd crossing the street is an enjoyable experience, especially on weekends. This area is also perfect for shopping and dining, so it’s worth staying a while.

Make sure to visit the Hachiko dog statue near Shibuya Crossing, which honors the loyal dog who waited for his owner at the train station every day, even after his owner passed away. The dog was eventually buried with his owner in 1935.

To get a great view of the Shibuya Crossing, visit the Hikarie skyscraper nearby and take the elevator to the 16th floor sky lobby to look out over the city from above.

A trip to Japan isn’t truly fulfilled without stopping by the Samurai museum in Tokyo. Visitors can admire a collection of swords, armor, helmets, guns, and other historical artifacts.

The admission fee is slightly expensive, but it covers a complimentary guided tour in English and the exhibits are fascinating to view. Following the tour, you have the option to have your picture taken wearing a Samurai helmet, or you can choose to wear a complete Samurai costume if you prefer!

Regrettably, the museum has been closed due to the impact of the covid pandemic on travel, but we are hopeful for its reopening in the near future.
